"Storygami" - Second Training Course
This unique project combines the art of origami with the power of storytelling to create a dynamic educational experience for youth workers and educators. Participants from all over have come together to explore how creativity can promote citizenship, cultural understanding, and effective communication. The second training course focused on developing practical skills in origami techniques, storytelling elements, and creative educational methods including stop-motion animation and book illustration. Participants engaged in interactive exercises exploring essential storytelling elements like time, space, characters, and plot twists, while developing powerful stories around project themes—Fact-Checking Tools, Promoting Erasmus+ Participation, Inclusive Education, and Youth Involvement in Decision-Making.

Key Activities & Learning
Team Building and Personal Storytelling
On the first working day, under the guidance of the trainer Seg Kirakossian participants engaged in fun team-building activities where they shared their personal stories through photos in different parts of Yerevan.


Origami Techniques Training
Participants are learning foundational origami techniques and discovering how to incorporate them into various educational settings. Today, October 23, they are diving deeper into the world of origami with none other than OzOz Ossama Helmy, head of the Arab Origami Center! The workshops were created in frames of the workshop by OzOz Ossama Helmy, the head of the Arab Origami Center and Seg Kirakossian.


Interactive Storytelling Development
Our participants have been diving deeper into the art of storytelling on the third working day of the second Storygami TC, exploring essential elements like time, space, characters, and the ever-important plot twist through interactive exercises. In teams, they developed powerful stories around project themes—Fact-Checking Tools, Promoting Erasmus+ Participation, Inclusive Education, and Youth Involvement in Decision-Making.


Creative Production: Stop-Motion and Illustrated Books
On Day 4, creativity took center stage as participants experimented with storytelling, origami, stop-motion, and book illustration! While all groups embraced origami folding techniques, they each took unique approaches: two teams crafted stop-motion films, bringing their stories to life through animation, while the other two illustrated storybooks, creating visual narratives that will resonate with youth in their communities.


Community Presentation and Cultural Exploration
On the 5th day of the second TC Storygami, participants put the finishing touches on their projects, showcasing their inspiring results to fellow participants and local guests from the hosting organization and the local community. The afternoon was filled with cultural exploration as we visited the ancient Temple of Garni and the stunning rock-carved Monastery of Geghard, diving into Armenia's rich heritage.


Evaluation and Follow-up Planning
On the final day, participants shared their group work, brainstormed follow-up projects to implement in their communities, and reflected on their experiences during evaluation activities. We wrapped up with a Youthpass certificate ceremony and an unforgettable farewell evening filled with emotions, memories, and dance!

Creative Educational Resources
The stop-motion movies and illustrated books "Small Journeys" and "Noorigamy" were created during the long-term training course "Storygami" which combines the art of origami with the power of storytelling to promote citizenship through creativity, cultural understanding, and effective communication. While all groups embraced origami folding techniques, they each took unique approaches: two teams crafted stop-motion films, bringing their stories to life through animation, while the other two illustrated storybooks, creating visual narratives that will resonate with youth in their communities.
